At the meeting of the Saudi Federation of Judo, chaired by Mohammadi bin Thaaluba al-Darai, it was decided that the national team will participate in the judo championship "Tbilisi Grand Slam", which will take place in the Georgian federation of judo from March 21 to March 23. This event is part of the preparation and qualification program for the Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles.
Four athletes have been selected to participate in the tournament based on their rankings and competition levels: Nadji Izbik in the weight category up to 66 kg, holder of a gold medal at the Kazakhstan Open Championship; Karim Abdel-Latif in the weight category up to 73 kg, also a winner at the Kazakhstan Open; Amr Gad, who won bronze at the Grand Slam in Tashkent; Sulaiman Ibrahim in the weight category up to 90 kg, a winner at the Kazakhstan Open Championship.
